Men's and Women's Bible Study Groups
Join us in the church Parlor (Auditorium Building, Church St. entrance) This summer our Men's group and Women's group are meeting together for study time then breaking into small groups for discussion. Enjoy light refreshments at 9 AM on Sundays and an enjoyable interactive Bible Study.
Neighborhood Outreach
DBC is actively visiting its neighbors in the downtown Orlando area. The DBC Prayer Team is praying over all of the collected neighborhood prayer requests. "Connections" are being made and new friendships developed. If you want to help or if you want a visit call the church office (407) 425-0200.
CrossOver Orlando
Evangelists from all over the country came to Orlando to help us share the gospel. The result was that 1,505 people gave their hearts to Jesus. In John 14:6 Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." It is our hope that the work that began in our hearts and in Orlando will continue in the days ahead.
Family Fun Day Block Party
The block party on Saturday June 12th was fun! All that came enjoyed the snow cones, hotdogs, face painting, balloons, karate demonstration, bounce houses, and special music. Thank you to all the Downtown neighbors and families that participated.
Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting in Orlando - the week of June 13, 2010
In fiscal 2009 the total giving of the 45,000 churches was more than $10 billion, of which $200 million went to the cooperative program (CP). $100 million of the CP funds supported 5441 international missionaries, $50 million supported 5304 North American missionaries, and $44 million supported 6 seminaries. The Lottie Moon Christmas offering for international missions was $127 million and the Annie Armstrong Easter offering for North American missions was $55 million. The 2009 membership was 16 million with 350,000 baptisms. The local churches that call themselves Southern Baptists are self-governing independent (autonomous) bodies that voluntarily cooperate with each other to spread th gospel around the world.
